The lakes management program on Canadian Lakes focuses on aquatic plant control and water quality monitoring. The purpose of the aquatic plant control program is to control nuisance, invasive plants while allowing beneficial native plants to thrive and provide important habitat for fish and wildlife.
Water quality monitoring consists of biannual deep-basin sampling to monitor baseline water quality conditions and monthly E.coli sampling at six beaches on the Main Chain of Canadian Lakes.
You can find maps of upcoming and completed treatments and commercial mechanical harvesting on the Plant Control page.
You can find water quality data reports on the Water Quality page.
